what do i need to start?

- PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization).

- Completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months. The Emergency First Response (EFR) course meet these requirements.

- Minimum age: 12 years old.

- Have a look at this medical form to see if you are fit to dive.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

The Rescue Course takes 2 days to complete. You wil complete theory online prior to arrival and then two days in-water (10 rescue exercises and 2 scenarios).

If you also need to add on the EFR course then add 1 day (3 days in total).

what will i do?

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies.

You will complete five theory models online before practicing ten rescue exercises in the open water, and finally participate in two Rescue Scenarios.

how does the course schedule look?

The course will take two days if you're already CPR & 1st Aid certified. You will complete online theory via PADI eLearning in advance, this covers the videos, knowledge review and final exam. Once you're here you will complete your emergency action plan and walk through some search patterns for a missing diver!

Days 2 and 3 of the course are all about the practical side - You'll learn skills in the pool and then go on to the boat for testing your skills in open water.

If it's been six months or longer since your last dive, then we strongly recommend starting with a day of fun dives before jumping straight in to rescue training.

Rescue Diver course schedule:

THEORY ONLINE With PADI e-Learning before arrival

You will complete the theory components of the course at home, before your arrival via PADI eLearning - This saves you time on your holiday and you can get started with the practical stuff right away when you arrive!

There are 5 modules, each with a video and a knowledge review to check your understanding. Then there is a multiple choice final exam.

You can complete the modules at your own pace in your free time, but all components must be completed before your arrival at the resort.

You will need to register for a PADI account, and we will send you the PADI material once your booking is confirmed.

Emergency First Response (EFR) is the fastest-growing international CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and First Aid training organization. Dedicated to training the lay rescuer, EFR courses encompasses adult, child and infant CPR skills and First Aid training. Many divers take the Emergency First Response courses to meet program prerequisites, such as PADI Rescue Diver. However, most have also found the EFR program to be important in every day life. They have taken a significant step in emergency preparedness, and feel confident that they can provide care should an emergency situation arise.
