Yes! Our manta rays dive sites rarely have current, so they're great for beginner divers and students! We need to have calm conditions to dive those sites as they're on the South side of the island, and we can check these conditions around four days in advance.
10 years old is the minimum age, and the course requirements are the same for children as they are for adults. Under 15's will earn Junior Open Water Diver certification, and 10 & 11 year olds will have a limited depth of 12m until they reach 12 years old.
There are two water skills tests as part of the Open Water Diver Course. The first is a ten minute float (or tread). The second is either a 200m distance swim or a 300m distance swim with mask, fins and snorkel. You're not allowed to wear any floatation aids such as lifejackets for the swim tests. Conditions around Nusa Penida can be challenging, so it's important that you're comfortable in the water.
Yes, as long as you take the earliest boat from Sanur to Nusa Penida at 7:30am. Please let us know during your booking process if you need this option as we will need to plan for adjusting the start time of the confined water dives.
Yes, you can! Our dives are usually finished by 3pm at the latest, and the last boat from Nusa Penida back to Sanur is at 5pm. You'll have some dives to log and a small amount of paperwork to do with your instructor after the dives, but there is time to take the last boat. You just cannot fly or go to altitude until 18 hours after your last dive ends.
We keep class sizes small to ensure that you get good attention from your instructor and to make sure that they can keep you safe. You may have up to four students total for theory and pool days, and up to two students total per instructor for your boat diving days.
Absolutely! Our packages include two extra dives (4 open water dives for the course plus two fun dives) or you can add on some extra days after your course ends at a discounted rate.
We plan our dive sites based on the conditions. If the conditions allow we can visit the manta sites and other famous sites such as Crystal Bay and SD Point. Our priority will be to choose safe dive sites appropriate for your course objectives as much as showing you awesome marine life :)
